What to do after you have a flopped launch – If She Did It Podcast

Transcript for Season 2 Episode 13 of the If She Did It Podcast.

[00:00:24] Hello, everybody. Welcome back to this week’s episode of the If She Did It podcast. I was actually just on a walk with Sage and I was listening to a podcast and I had this idea that I really wanted to bring to you all for this week. So here we are doing another impromptu episode.

[00:00:42] These kinds of things happen a lot, especially because I’m trying to bring some more solocasts into the mix for you all to get to experience more of my magic, because I have plenty of magic and I want to share it with you all as much as I want to share the amazing journeys and lessons from other badass entrepreneurs. So today we’re going to be talking about is what to do after you have a flopped launch, because I know we’ve all been there. This is also going to be really valuable if you’ve maybe never launched before and you’re terrified to launch because you’re scared of flopping.

[00:01:17] OK, so this is a really important topic to discuss because we all are going to experience it at some point in our careers, it happens whether it’s because we have the wrong strategy or we’re not in the right mindset or, you know, it was bad timing or whatever it is, it happens. And I want you to be prepared for it. So that’s why we’re going to be talking about this today.

[00:01:40] So before we dive into the actual topic of this week, I do want to remind you that Souled Out Launches is still open for enrollment. And Courtney and I are crazy and we decided to extend the $500 discount until this coming Friday, which is, December 4th. And so if you join by December 4th, you’re going to save $500. We also added an extended payment plan so you can start today for as little as $197. The reason being, we want to make this so accessible. We want to help you sell out your launches in 2021. We want to make sure that you’re prepared and ready to go. Every single one of the women that showed up to Souled Out Launches in the last round that enrolled and showed up to every call and took advantage of the support that we provided for them, they all made a minimum of four thousand dollars all the way up to eight thousand dollars in an eight week time period. That is wild, especially because they’re all in their first or second year of business.

[00:02:38] That is huge transformation, really freaking quickly. And that’s what we want for all of you. And because so many of these women were able to make that happen, we know it’s possible for you to make happen if you take a chance on yourself and invest in this program, even if you don’t think that you’re going to be launching in the January timeframe on when the program itself starts, you will be getting support from us in the month of December from the free Facebook group. And this is something you can implement at any time. And if you’re not actually launching while we’re going through the program, you’re going to get a chance to really consume everything, learn it all, and then implement from there. And it’s going to be really, really powerful. And if you wanted to take that that direction with it, there’s always the opportunity to continue working with myself and Courtney after the fact. And we offer really insane discounts to continue working with us to any past clients. And you can work with both of us to get our support during your launch if you’re launching later on.

[00:03:33] But you want to get the strategy, the support to build out your personalized launch plan, because having something personalized to you in your business makes the world of difference. So I’m going to dive into that now and we’re going to start this this lesson with a story. So when I first started my business, I was getting ready for my first launch and I was so excited I could not wait. I was like, you know, I was I was up late every night creating the trainings for my clients that I was going to get. And I was planning on my content ahead of time. I was so excited. I was following the exact launch plan that my coach gave me. She told me what I needed to charge. She told me the link. She told me everything. Basically, she spoon fed me everything. And I was like, there’s no way this is going to fail.

[00:04:14] She’s had successful launches. She gets twenty plus women into every one of her programs, you know, and I’m learning from her. I’m learning from the best.

[00:04:21] And then I launched and I had crickets and I ended up getting three sales calls booked and out of the three, one said yes. And then she backed out a day later and the other two were no’s. And it was horrible. It was a horrible experience for me. I was questioning everything. I was like, what am I doing? I did everything my coach told me and it still didn’t work. This is never going to work for me. This is not going to happen for me. And I just invested all this money and I’m going to have to throw in the towel and go get a desk job and this is it. And I really believed that for a minute. And I really believe that it was never going to work for me. And then I sat back a couple of weeks. Later and I said, you know what, I have two options, I could throw in the towel, give up on my dreams, or I can try again. And so at the time, I was still doing some social media management work. So I was making a little bit over a thousand dollars a month from that. So I said, OK, I have some money, I have some money saved. I am going to charge a stupid, cheap amount of money for this program and I’m just going to get people in and they’re not going to question the price. They’re just going to take advantage of the opportunity because I’m new. So they’re just going to say, you know what, this pricing makes sense and I don’t fully align with that belief anymore. I do think that beginners should still charge a fair price for their, you know, for their time and their knowledge. But that’s beside the point. So I charged I think it was either four fifty or five fifty for a six week, one to one program. And I got seven clients. I did. I went through a launch. I got seven clients and I did it.

[00:05:51] I was like, you know what? I did it. Holy shit, I did it.

[00:05:54] And looking back on that, a couple of months later, I realized that the thing that was different was that I was in abundance when I launched that second time because I got to a place where I just disconnect from the outcome. And I did not give a shit. I just wanted to get clients and make an impact to make some money, any money to prove to myself that I could. And that’s what I did. And then I said, you know what, I need more support, any more guidance. I need to work in my mindset. That’s a huge thing that I have not done. I need to, you know, empower myself, all this stuff. So I hired my next mentor and that program changed my life. I am a totally different person because of that program and the friends that I made in that program, I show up in my business in a completely different way. It took me into my journey of intuition and magic and all that beautiful, beautiful stuff.

[00:06:41] And ever since that program, every launch that I have is a minimum of a 10K launch, a minimum of a 10K launch. So I went from a flop launch to finding a way to make it happen and get something. And ever since July of twenty nineteen, every launch I’ve done has been at least ten thousand dollars every single time. So what’s the lesson here? The lesson here is that you can not take a copy and paste a sorry whoa. You cannot take a copy and paste approach to launching. Launching needs to be personalized to your business and needs to feel aligned for you. So you need to learn the strategies that go into a launch. But the thing is, there’s a launch strategy and there’s the tactics that you put into it. So you need the tactics that make sense for you. Not every tactic works for every person example, three to five day free challenges, those do not work for me energetically. I am not available to them. I do not get clients that way. It does not work for me. I have some clients who love free challenges. It works for them.

[00:07:56] Different kinds of tactics are going to work for different kinds of businesses, you don’t need a program, you don’t need a coach to give you a copy and paste method.

[00:08:06] You need someone to work alongside you to build out the the the plan, the method, everything within a launch that works for you and makes sense for you. That’s what you need. OK, and so if you’ve had a flopped launch, what do you do? What do you do? You may have maybe one out it alone.

[00:08:25] Maybe you had invested in a coach and she gave she or he gave you a copy and paste model and you did just what they said and you didn’t get the results. OK, so basically you need to do an audit of your past launch. You need to look at a couple of things. You need to look at what was your goal? How many clients did you want to get? And then you need to look at your availability and what the expectations of you for those clients were going to be. And ask yourself, was I actually energetically available for that amount of clients? Was my goal realistic or was it secretly, subconsciously giving me heart palpitations? Because that’s important. If that number is aligned to keep it, if it’s wrong to change it, then you need to look at the price of your program. Do you believe in the price of your program? Do you believe in what you price it at? Or were you pressured by outside sources? If you don’t believe in the price of your program, you need to change it if you believe in the price of your program. But you did not put into account your dream client when you made when you chose the pricing of your program. You need to go back to the drawing board. The thing is, yes, we need to charge based on the value of our services. That is not wrong. That is something that is correct. We need to launch based on the value of our services. However, we need to launch based on the value of our services and based on the means of our dream client. Example, my dream client for a majority of my programs is a beginner coach.

[00:09:43] I personally don’t believe in pressuring a brand new coach to pay me five, six, seven, ten thousand dollars to get my eyes on their business and to get me to support them in their business, especially because I tend to attract women into my business and into my programs who are on the same path that I was on where they actually already quit their job. And it’s like make or break to make this business work for them or not. So they don’t have tens of thousands of dollars to invest in. They don’t they’re not making any money. They need to invest what they can to get support. Right. So it would make sense for me to charge five thousand plus dollars for a beginner program. Some coaches are aligned with that. I don’t believe in that. So point being that I can I think to myself, OK, what do I think is a realistic price to charge a beginner? And what’s the lowest price that I’m comfortable charging based on the value of these services? And that’s how I determine my price. That’s how I want you to determine your price, to consider your dream client in the way that you’re charging, because if they. Are absolutely 100 percent uncomfortable with the price that you are charging, if they would love nothing more than to do your program, but they legitimately cannot make it work financially, you’re never going to get a client. So you need to check in with your pricing. So you’ve checked in with the goal of clients. You want to get you checked in with your pricing.

[00:11:11] And I want you to check in with your launch strategy itself. Your launch strategy needs to be a minimum of three weeks, you need two weeks of pre launch, one week of open minimum. So if you do not warm up your audience for at least two weeks, that’s a big reason that you did not get the results you were looking for. So I want you to assess that. I want you to look at that and ask yourself, did I give my client did I give my my audience enough time to prepare to buy from me, especially if you’re newer in the online space? You can not expect to get that return so quickly. You need to warm your audience up. You need to get them ready to buy from you need a prime and prep them. So I want you to explore that. I want you to explore how many conversations in the DMS were you having because you need to be having conversations even if you want to magnetically attract your dream clients to you. If you’ve never had any form of conversation with someone in the dorms before, the chances of them feeling like they trust you enough to want to reach out and buy from you is very slim. So if you start having conversations, consistent conversations, even if you don’t know how to have a sales conversation in the dorms, even if you’re just getting to know them and building a relationship with them, your chances of getting clients that way goes up.

[00:12:25] So I want you to explore that, how many conversations were you having, how many conversations were you having before you actually launched? Imagine what can happen if you were having conversations weeks leading up to your launch so that you knew who needed your program before you even opened your car. Imagine how powerful that would have been. So then going back to the content that you created, how many days a week were you posting during a launch? You should be posting every single day, Monday through Friday. You want to make sure that you had value driven content, that was educating them, that was agitating them. You want to make sure that you were teasing them about your program, but not actually talking about your program until until you were ready to talk about it, until you opened your car. I’m sorry. I got to thrive. Notification until you were ready to open your car. Right. So you’re not actually giving them all the information about your program until your car is opened. So now you’ve reviewed your content. You reviewed how if you are aligned with the amount of clients you’re trying to call and you reviewed your pricing, you reviewed your strategy. So what’s next? OK, so the next thing you want to do is I want you to look at how often did you show up on Instagram stories? How often did you have value driven content on your Instagram stories during your launch process? How often did you sell on your Instagram stories? How often did your call to action in your posts have something to do with selling your program? How many reals did you put out? Because Real’s really, really increased reach, really increase viewership amongst your entire profile. You know, how much were you showing up? At what level were you showing up? Were you showing up at 200 percent excitement so your audience could be at one hundred percent excitement because that’s important to another thing to look at.

[00:14:05] How confident were you in what you were selling and the service you were you were you were trying to provide? How confident were you in your pricing? How confident were you in all these things? Because not only do you need to be aligned, you need to be confident. You need to believe in everything that you’re selling wholeheartedly or people are going to see right down through you. So you best make sure that whatever it is that you are selling that service, you know, you can provide for your clients. That is so, so important. OK, so I want you to review all of this. I want you to go through all of this, and then I want you to look at what could you have done better to make your next launch even more successful, because looking at all of this is going to make an immense difference within your next launch. Now, once you’ve done all of this and you’ve reviewed and all of that, what are next steps you need to get support? Honestly, if you want to make sure that you sell out your next launch, you need to get support. You need to get support because making sure that you believe wholeheartedly in what you’re doing, you are confident in what you’re doing and you know, strategically how to build a personalized launch plan for yourself to ensure the results you’re looking for. You need support to do that. It’s not easy to go through all of that on your own, and I’m telling you that I promise you that it’s going to be so much easier when you get support.

[00:15:18] So that is where so that launches comes into play. This program will give you all of that. It’s going to give you that confidence boost. It’s going to give you that mindset support. It’s going to give you that strategy support. We’re going to go through the launch strategy. But not only that, you’re going to learn about sales. You’re going to learn about marketing because it all comes together. You cannot have a successful launch if you are not a good salesperson. You cannot have a successful launch if you are not a good marketer. When we start a business as an entrepreneur. It is our job to become a salesperson, a marketer, a launch expert, a customer service expert. It is our job to do all of that. Even if you want to ultimately outsource in your business, you should still be good at all of those things because you should know what your team members are doing for you. So it is imperative that you become a master in all of these things. And when you become a launch master, you often become a sales master and you become a marketing master. So that is what Courtney and I are going to help you do. And so that launches. So I know this program might seem like too good to be true. You can literally start today for one ninety seven. Where’s the catch? There’s literally no catch. We’re starting the first full week of January after New Year’s. You’re going to get support in our feet in our private Facebook community for the month of December.

[00:16:35] We’re going to provide you with pre work to get you ready for January. And we’re going to help you build out a launch strategy for all of twenty, twenty one, a launch plan for all of twenty twenty one. And we’re going to help you through your first launch of twenty twenty one. If you say, well, I wasn’t planning to launch in January, but what I’m really interested in this program, I’m telling you that even if you’re not planning to launch in January, this program will help you. The program will go through February because it is an eight week program so you can launch later on throughout the program. But you’re also going to have this to build out for you for every launch moving forward. So even if you do not launch within eight weeks, this program is still valuable. This program is still worth you joining, because if you do not join now, the next round is going to be a minimum of five hundred dollars more expensive. And, you know, we don’t know when we’re going to launch again because we love this program. We love, love, love this program. And we have our own offers. Our own business is to run as well. So you want to get in on this now so that you don’t miss out because who knows when you never know when a program is going to launch and you never know of a business owner, an entrepreneur or a coach is going to turn around tomorrow and completely shift the layout of their business, completely shift the programs that they offer. You never know when that’s going to happen. So if you want something, you take advantage of it. Now, you don’t wait.

[00:17:50] You just go for it. We believe in you, I believe in you, I know you can do it.
