Speaker1: [00:00:00] Welcome back to the initiative podcast. Hello, hello. I am so excited for this week's episode. We are going to be talking about what is getting in your way of landing clients on social media. So we're really going to be focusing on Instagram. And this was not what I was supposed to be reporting for this week's episode, but I got really inspired from what I was seeing around the gram, and I'm coming to you to share it all here. And as a reminder, before we dive in to reminders, as always, share about the podcast on Instagram. Tag Me Tag the podcast Instagram, which is just if she did a podcast and you'll be entered to win Starbucks on me. And the other reminder is the abundant Mrs. Economy is in pre enrollment right now. So the link to the sales page as well as the application are in the show notes. And essentially, if you are wanting to build the foundation of your business, wanting to get really clear on your branding, wanting to go from confused and overwhelmed and shut out in your business to really clear cut focus goal plan approach, creating a marketing strategy for yourself, a sales strategy and finally landing clients all in 10 weeks. This is the program for you, and when you apply and join as like a pre enrollment, you get over five hundred dollars off the investment or five hundred dollars. Speaker1: [00:01:24] The investment during pre enrollment is only nine ninety seven for the basic option, and you're also going to get over a thousand dollars in bonus things in bonus opportunities, if you will. So pretty freaking dope, you're saving $500 and getting over a thousand dollars in bonuses. Pretty mind blowing, if you ask me. So with that, let's dive into this week's episode. Welcome to the If She Did It podcast with your host, business coach and business bestie Becky Fagan. This is your one stop shop for all things business growth, energetic alignment, strategy mindset and a fun touch of spirituality. Nothing is off limits here, and you're bound to lead every single episode inspired, excited and ready to take massive action in your business. This podcast was created to help create more badass female CEOs and help you see that business gets to be simple, strategic and fun. Now let's dive in. Ok, y'all, are you ready to find out why you are struggling to land clients, even though you are showing up and posting on the ground? Because this is going to be a really quick episode, but it's going to be really action packed. It's going to be really jam packed with some really important information. So essentially, I talked to a lot of people, right? A lot of people are in my DMs talking to me about their struggles, talking to me about, you know, what's what's lacking in their business. Speaker1: [00:02:45] And a lot of the people that I talk to aren't looking to invest in their business for one reason or another. Maybe they don't feel ready. Maybe they feel like they've already invested before nothing came of it. Maybe they feel like they can just consume free content, and that'll be good enough. You know, the the reasons for not feeling ready, go on and on and on, but then not feeling ready doesn't hold them back, which is totally fine because it's very helpful for me if we're being honest from sharing with me, you know what's going on, where their struggles lie, you know what's essentially holding them back in their business? And it's really opened my eyes up to things that I can help you guys with because a lot of the time we don't feel ready to invest because we don't like really when we dig deep, it's that there's this fear of Are we good enough? Can we do this? Are we worthy of making the investment? So I'm going to tell you two things. By the end of this episode, you are going to know exactly what you need to shift on your Instagram account and the way that you show up to start to get walking in the right direction of landing clients. But you are also going to feel so empowered and ready to apply and join the Abundant Business Academy. Speaker1: [00:03:59] And I'm not even kidding when I say that this is such an impactful like conversation that we're going to have and be like, Holy shit, I need more of Becky. Let's fucking go. And I also want to make the point that although I am fucking focusing this on Instagram, the concepts here can be transferred anywhere because what I'm going to point out is important no matter what social platform you are on. Because, you know, at the end of the day, what applies to Instagram in terms of what people need to know about you, how people understand you, et cetera, applies to every platform. It's just the approach to putting it out into the world is a little bit different. So I digress. Let's dive in. The biggest thing, the biggest, biggest thing that is shifting in the coaching world is that people need to trust you to want to hire you. People aren't just going to hire you because you seem cool, OK, at least not most people. So we need. To be able to trust you and know you and people want their coaches, their service providers to have experience, to have a background, to have knowledge beyond, Oh, I open my computer one day and decided I want to start my business and you might chuckle, but that happens a lot. And if you are one of those people, OK, we need a backtrack a little bit and identify what is your experience? Because no matter what we each have experience, we didn't just wake up one day and become good at what we do. Speaker1: [00:05:30] We were educated. We we did trial and error. We learned. So excuse me, I totally should have to cough fine. The most literally like this is the most important thing. If you take one thing away from this episode, take this. You need to have something on your profile that helps you will understand who you are and what you can do for them. I cannot tell you how many coaches profiles I go to on Instagram, especially business coaches. I scroll through their account and I cannot find a damn like. I cannot find one piece of content that explains and tells me why I should trust them to help me in my business. So I'm like, Who are you? And Why are you a business coach? And there's no answer. There's no answer. And to be completely honest with you guys, that's unacceptable. Like, it's really unacceptable. I need to know who you are and when I say, I mean, everybody, everybody, I'm sure your profile needs to know who you are or what you do, why you do it, what your background is, why you should pick you, what your expertise are. Because if I come across to business coaches and I vibe with both of them and I'm just using business coach as an example, I vibe with both of them the same. Speaker1: [00:06:38] I think they're both both dope, but one of them has a proven track record, has a highlight reel that shares with me all of their experience, their entire story, their entire journey up to this point. And the other one just claims she can do something for me, but has no proof to go with. It has no background shared within. I have to dig to get any of that information by asking all these questions. I'm probably going to pick the first person that I just mentioned that has all of that background, right? And whoever is listening, you probably feel the same way. So what do we need to do? First things first, when it comes to your Instagram bio, right? You have your IHOP statement and there are so many people that are like, Oh, it's outdated, there's better ways. But let's be honest, you guys, there's nothing better than an AI help statement. It is clear, concise to the point. It's as simple as that. If the if it's working, what's not broke, don't fix what's not broken, right? Whatever that saying is, it's working. Don't screw it up, right? So you can take your own approach to it, but you want something in your bio that basically says, I help blank with blank, so that blank. Speaker1: [00:07:44] So using myself as an example, let me just pull up real fast, but using myself as an example, right? My Instagram bio I help powerful CEOs combine simple strategies to grow your business with flow and fun. So essentially my so that is that I'm helping you combine simple strategies square business so that you can flow and have fun, right? That's essentially what I'm doing. So I want you to really think about this and re ally put this into consideration when you're creating your bio. Ok, so that's the very first thing. Then ideally, you're going to have more space in your bio and I want you to share your expertise. So for me, something that builds my reputation, if you will, is that I have a journalism degree. I have a degree in something that has helped me with my business. Coaching journalism has made me understand, you know, you kind of have to learn how to be an entrepreneur, to be a journalist. And I did take off more classes in college, but I also know how to write really powerfully. I know how to, you know, builds an army presence. I know all this stuff because of my degree, so I put my degree in my bio. If you have a degree that supports what you do. Put that in your bio. If you are an expert in something, put that in your bio. Speaker1: [00:09:00] Even if you're a self-proclaimed expert. If you are a certified something, put that in your bio. Put some something that builds on your reputation, if you will, in your bio. Ok, the next thing that you absolutely need to do if you have no other story highlights in your profile, you absolutely need my story highlight and you guys can go over to my Instagram and check mine up because if I say so myself, I think it's pretty good where you share your story. I've talked to you about your hero's journey. Before you need to dig into that, you need to share your story on your Instagram Stories and then add it to a story highlight so that it's there that people can see and look at whenever they need to. Because if someone is interested in working with you, they can easily find everything they need to know about you. They don't need to dig for it. So share what the background that led up to you starting your business share why you are the best at what you. You share your experience, share everything you possibly can. That is so important. And share where you're at today, share your entire journey and add that to your Instagram Story highlights. And then on top of that, you need to be re sharing this story. And I like shake it up a bit. I don't copy my stories that I've already shared. Speaker1: [00:10:20] I redo it every quarter of the year at least once. One hundred percent, you have to do that. And another thing? Don't talk it. Use photos that go with like if you're talking about something that happened in twenty eighteen post photos from twenty eighteen and put text, use text. People prefer that like because this is going to be kind of long, right? So don't talk it. Put text, we move her to read something that that's this long and put the graphics to like, keep them intrigued, right? And keep them looking. So that is something that is so important that is missing from so many profiles and makes me be like, Who the f are you like? Who are you? And what can you do for me? Because especially with something like and I keep going back to business coaching because there are so many business coaches these days that like really don't have a lot of, you know, anything supporting what they're doing. So when you share about like a like, what's a dream client, what's an ideal client, what's unique? What's your target market like? You can Google that shit. You guys, you can Google that shit. So how can we know that you are somebody that didn't just go on Google? Find the answers or pay for a coach, get the answers from them and then regurgitate it your own spin on things. Speaker1: [00:11:31] A lot of that comes from us knowing that you have experience supports you, creating your own spin, so you need that piece in your bio. Crucial. So like talking with my hands, I'm clapping my hands because it's just so fucking important, you guys. So that's kind of like the first piece, OK? So another thing that I see happen a lot on Instagram is you talk in your stories and you waste a lot of time. People have a really short attention span, a really short attention span. So the thing is, we need to find a mixture of being strategic and feeling in alignment because you can have fun on stories and talk on stories and be in alignment on stories while also being strategic when you come on stories and say, start talking for like half of the 15 second clip and then you're like, Oh my gosh, my dogs barking, what's going on? And then you take us on this journey with you when you're trying to figure out what's going on with your dog and you end up releasing like 30 seconds to a minute of our time with that, before you get back to your point, you've lost at least 50 percent of the people who are consuming your content's interests, and they've moved on. And that's just the truth. So you need to be more concise with what you're sharing. Speaker1: [00:12:43] If you want to do talking videos on your stories, that is perfectly fine. Go for it. It connects people to you, but you need to be concise. You need to stick to the point. You need to get super clear. And if possible, you want to get to your point. And for video clips just for eight max, people lose interest too quickly. Ok, so that's really, really important. If you want to go on like rants and share different things, maybe consider creating like a close friends list for like your top most engaged followers and audience. But for the most part, unless you're like already getting a response from that and people are constantly consuming it because there are those like few outliers that people just love following you around your life and like, if it's working for you, that's one thing. But if you're listening to this podcast episode, I'm guessing that things aren't working for you. So this is how we make it better, right? We we nix the we mix this like small talk bullshit, like wasting space kind of energy of saying, I'm a lot and like a lot and pausing and saying, Oh my God, I just lost my train of thought. Like, No start over. Then you guys, I'm sorry, but start over. Then there comes a point where like, you are being a little bit too wrong, you're losing people's interest. Speaker1: [00:13:56] And I'm all about vulnerability and rawness, but we don't want to lose people's interest that is so important. Ok, so getting being really like straightforward on what you're sharing. And then another thing that I see a lot is that people like, you're not inspiring people enough. You're sharing this basic educational content, which is great and educational content is good. But who are you? What is your drive? What do you do? Why do you do it? How are you showing up, right? We need to know who you are. Show us you be unique, be yourself. That is really important. Share inspirational story content. Speak your mind. Stand up for what you believe in. Like all these little elements are so important. Ok, so that's another piece. And then the last piece I'm going to touch on today because, like I said, it was going to be quick short to the point, but really jam packed. And these first three things I've touched on are huge, and I need you to take action on them like yesterday. But the last thing I really want to touch on is that like, if you're not selling consistently, you're not going to make sales, right? So like if you're complaining that you're not getting clients, you haven't sold enough, like keep fucking selling. Keep talking about your offer. Keep talking about the transformation. If nothing's happening after two weeks of constant promotion shift, make a pivot like you need to go for it. Speaker1: [00:15:23] One hundred and ten percent, you need to go all the fuck in and promote and promote and promote and bust your ass. We don't need a hustle. That being said, we need to work our asses off. You guys starting the business is not fucking easy. We don't get to flow and be an ease from day one. We just don't. I'm sorry, it's fucking bullshit if anybody tells you otherwise. It takes time. We get to have fun every step of the way. We get to enjoy ourselves. We get to take breaks. We get to take time off and we need to. From day one, we want to set up those boundaries from day one and we need to work our fucking asses off. You guys like for real, for fucking real. So this is what it's really about. So all of this to circle down. Circle time the fuck does that mean, but all of this like, let's end this with like, what do we do next? Next, do take action on everything I just touched on today. And then after that, really like no joke, would I encourage you to do apply to the Abundant Business Academy? This program is going to completely transform your life and your business in just 10 weeks. I've already had four or five people show interest.
